Ron Christopher Stamps was born in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Stamps began his undergraduate education at Xavier University of New Orleans. Mr. Stamps graduated from Southern University, with an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science. Mr. Stamps graduated from Southern University Law School (J.D. 1993), where Mr. Stamps was a member of the Southern University Law Review and the Moot Court Board.
In 1996, Mr. Stamps accepted an assistant professorship in Legal Studies at Southern University Shreveport and served as Legal Studies department chair. From 1998-2002, Mr. Stamps was a litigation partner with the law firm of Sibley, Hall, and Stamps. In 2002, Mr. Stamps continued in private practice and worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Caddo Parish, prosecuting violent crimes. In May 2006, the Louisiana Supreme Court appointed Mr. Stamps Judge Pro Tempore for the Shreveport City Court, Division “C’. Mr. Stamps served in this capacity from May 2006 until July 2007.
Mr. Stamps is also Special Counsel to the City of Shreveport and is a Special Assistant District Attorney for Caddo Parish. Mr. Stamps is admitted to practice in all Louisiana and Texas Courts, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Federal Eastern, Middle and Western District Courts for Louisiana. Mr. Stamps is a member of Purpose Church, United Way of Northwest Louisiana, Community Tennis Association and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
